If you are preparing to attend a job fair for the first time OR if you have been to a job fair and didn’t get the results you expected, this presentation will give you tips and tricks on what to do.
Topics include:
- Understanding why companies go to job fairs
- This is your foot in the door.. You are more than just a piece of paper.
- Before the event
- Dress to impress
- Resume stapled if 2 pages (No more than 2 pages)
- Bring plenty of copies
- Leave kids – additional family at door or at home.
- Day of Event
- Paper resume vs online job application
- Talk to EVERY employer
- Disregard Job Titles (Sanitary Engineer)
- Use 30 second elevator pitch -Let them match your skills to their jobs
- 3 potential answers
- If yes – what is next step?
- No needs now
- We don’t hire (Job Title)
