If you are preparing to attend a job fair for the first time OR if you have been to a job fair and didn’t get the results you expected, this presentation will give you tips and tricks on what to do.

Topics include:

  • Understanding why companies go to job fairs
  • This is your foot in the door.. You are more than just a piece of paper.
  • Before the event
    • Dress to impress
    • Resume stapled if 2 pages (No more than 2 pages)
    • Bring plenty of copies
    • Leave kids – additional family at door or at home.
  • Day of Event
    • Paper resume vs online job application
    • Talk to EVERY employer
    • Disregard Job Titles (Sanitary Engineer)
    • Use 30 second elevator pitch -Let them match your skills to their jobs
    • 3 potential answers
      • If yes – what is next step?
      • No needs now
      • We don’t hire (Job Title)
