Julianne was long term unemployed and had exhausted her unemployment insurance benefits when she came to Golden Sierra Job Training Agency. She had 20 years of work experience in the construction industry and thought there would be more opportunities if she learned about Estimating and Bidding.

After some research, she knew she’d need a certification to compete with other candidates. She applied for a WIOA grant to attend the Construction Management program at UC Davis Extension. Julianne completed the program and received several job offers prior to graduation.

She accepted a full-time position with Katerra (Affordable Housing Division) as a Traveling Assistant Superintendent. Julianne said “the Golden Sierra team helped me through my entire journey including new job referrals, consistent contact, job fair notifications, and overall support. Truly a great experience with this team!”
