The Healthy Workplace, Healthy Families Act of 2014 was recently signed into law. What does this mean for you as an
employer? Effective 7/1/15, ALL employers, both public and private, will be required to provide paid sick leave to all of
their employees, with a few exceptions. With the passage of this Act (AB1522), California has become the second state
in the nation to require employers to provide paid sick leave. You’ll learn about the intent behind AB1522; carryover,
accrual and posting requirements; PTO plan pros and cons; handbook changes that need to be made; what the law
mandates and what you need to do NOW. We’ll also address the more than 20 new labor laws for 2015 including
practical advice on how to alter your policies and practices to stay compliant.
