Businesses are facing increasingly long processes to find and onboard qualified applicants. After connecting with Northern California Business Advisory Council (NorCal BAC) partners, businesses have reduced their time to fill vacant positions while increasing the quality and diversity of their workforce.
This event includes:
• a brief overview from Franklin Templeton (financial services), Raley’s (retail), and Essendant (distribution) on their inclusive hiring strategies
• an interactive panel discussion
• small breakout discussions with HR representative and NorCal BAC partners

Event speakers:
Malena Madrigal, Talent Acquisition Project Manager at Franklin Templeton, created the Ability Recruitment Program at Franklin Templeton, which has partnered with the BAC partner, Progressive Employment Concepts, to recruit and onboard employees into various departments.
Bahar Abullarade, Talent Acquisition Leader at Raley’s has been a passionate champion of inclusive hiring and forming deep community connections. Raley’s has Community Connection Meet and Greets every 3rd Thursday to meet people who want a personal connection while exploring career opportunities.
Daniel Degeorge Sr, Human Resources Business Partner at Essendant, created an applicant pool of high-performing employees who can working in less than a week after a position opens. A recent review of employees from the Alternative Hiring Project found that this team was working nearly twice as fast as employees hired through the traditional pipeline, had 2.5 less absenteeism, and had no safety recordables. Essendant rolled out their Alternative Hiring Project in less than a year and has only been implementing this strategy in Sacramento for 3 months.
