Meet Jordan. Jordan is a graduate of Placer County’s Re-Entry Program (PREP). This program exists to help individuals on probation transition to employment. Many employers are unwilling to “take a chance” on high-risk employees.
In order to help Jordan, PREP referred her to Golden Sierra for additional workforce preparation activities. Initially, Jordan was very hesitant to apply for work. She assumed every employer would turn her away.
We contacted L.B. Construction and offered them a hiring incentive to train Jordan as an Office Clerk. Jordan was thrilled. She passed the drug test and soon began working. She impressed her new employer with her strong work ethic – she never called in sick and easily passed the 90-day probation period.
Happy with their new hire, L.B. Construction offered Jordan a full-time, permanent position. Jordan says, “If I could tell another person in my situation how to succeed, I’d tell them to listen to their case manager, work hard, stay sober, use all the resources – good things will happen.”
